Does NexLex give legal advice?
No. NexLex is a research tool. It finds and summarises source material with citations attached, and it is designed to be reviewed by someone qualified to interpret it. It is not a substitute for a lawyer.
What happens if it cannot find a source?
It tells you. An answer with no supporting passage is reported as unsupported rather than generated from the model's own priors. This is the single most important design decision in the product.
Is my uploaded material used for training?
Never. Private matters are encrypted per-tenant, isolated from the shared corpus, and excluded from every training and evaluation pipeline. You can delete them permanently at any time.
Which jurisdictions are covered?
The public corpus currently covers Indian central legislation and Supreme Court and High Court judgments. Additional jurisdictions are ingested on request for institutional customers.
Can I run it against my own document set?
Yes. Practice plans allow private upload, and Institution plans support custom corpus ingestion with your own retention policy.
