Grounding
How a passage becomes a citation.
Retrieval runs in two stages: a dense pass over paragraph embeddings, then a lexical re-rank that favours exact statutory language. Only passages surviving both stages are eligible to ground a claim.
- Dense retrieval over paragraph-level embeddings
- Lexical re-ranking weighted toward statutory phrasing
- Jurisdiction and date filtering applied before generation
- Per-sentence attribution back to a character range
